The Nexus Neurospecialty Program is a unique program that offers a comprehensive interdisciplinary treatment approach for individuals with acquired brain injuries and other neurologic conditions. The program is overseen by John W. Cassidy, M.D., who has more than twenty-five years of experience treating patients with physical and behavioral comorbidities resulting from acquired brain injury.

The program is a collaboration between the Touchstone Neurorecovery Center, a nationally-recognized post-acute brain injury provider, and Nexus Specialty Hospital, an adult medical specialty hospital with a total of 75 beds on two campuses, one in The Woodlands, TX and the other in Shenandoah, TX.

The smaller, home-like environment of the 21-bed campus in The Woodlands is uniquely conducive to the Nexus Neurospecialty Program. This transitional program is designed to bridge the gap of services between acute hospitalization and the next level of care for patients with brain injuries or other neurologic impairments. During this critical point of recovery, issues such as quality of life and functional recovery become an important focus for patients and their loved ones, and the Nexus Neurospecialty Program incorporates these recovery goals as it addresses the patient’s medical, physical, and cognitive impairments in a safe and structured environment.
